Another starting point is the Convent of San Domenico, which can be reached only on foot via a scenic staircase of about 1,000 steps. This section can already be considered part of the experience itself: the climb, surrounded by Mediterranean vegetation and offering spectacular views of the sea, feels like a “trail within the trail”.
To get there, we recommend reaching the Capo Vettica area in Praiano and beginning the walk toward the convent. From here you can continue along the Path of the Gods in the direction of Positano, crossing one of the most scenic and panoramic sections of the entire route.

Once you reach Nocelle, we suggest one final effort: about 1,500 steps will lead you down to the heart of Positano, where you can reward yourself with a refreshing swim in the sea before heading back to Praiano.
FUN FACT
The name of this famous trail comes from ancient legends according to which the Greek gods passed through here to save Ulysses from the sirens that lived on the Li Galli islands. The writer Italo Calvino described this path as “that road suspended above the magical gulf of the Sirens, still crossed today by memory and myth”. This same phrase can be read on ceramic tiles placed at the very beginning of the Path of the Gods.
The beauty of this trail also lies in its remarkable natural authenticity. The path remains largely untouched, just as nature shaped it over the centuries. Human intervention is visible only in a few protective railings along certain sections and in the clear signage that guides hikers along the route.
